The location was rural and pretty, and not too far away from amenities in Tavistock. I arrived in the evening after a long hike and the staff at the reception were extremely helpful and friendly. They seemed interested in the hike that I was undertaking and they showed me to my pitching and pointed out where all the facilities were around the campsite. You can order baked goods to collect in the morning and there is a restaurant with a good menu and a bar. I didn't eat here, but I did sit at a table in the restaurant for a while, and the food smelt great. You can also by a variety of general goods, food and drinks at reception. I had some coffees and some shortbread. The facilities are top notch. There's a very good indoors space for washing dishes that has 4 or 5 sinks with bowls and cloths. And the gentlemen's toilet/shower block was kept very clean. It was spacious, with private shower cubicles that each had their own bench, and the room was warm. You could also pay to take a hot bath. There are farm animals around, which are loud late into the evening, but I slept well. It was lovely to wake up to birdsong, which was peaceful, albeit loud. I could identify the sound of a cuckoo, and a collared dove, and the staff told me there was also a green woodpecker.
There was a waste disposal area, with recycling and compost bins. And a couple of taps for clean drinking water.
The site feels trustworthy and the other campers at the site were friendly, so I didn't worry about leaving my tent unattended.
The only bad thing about my pitching was that the ground was dense with rocks, so it was difficult to get my tent pegs in, but this is difficult to avoid on Dartmoor.
I would definitely stay here again. More

Being on the bottom of pew tor we had the opportunity to head up to a fantastic view late and night and early morning to catch the sunset over the moors.

All of the facilities are kept clean, staff were very kind, welcoming and helpful.

We will defiantly be returning with the kids next year!

  What a surprise! Right on the edge of Dartmoor and a hidden gem. The site is large but doesn't look it. The glamping pods are discrete and secluded and the... read more static vans are likewise not over emphasised. Office is open late and they even have a restaurant.

We stayed on a grass pitch with optional hookup. Facilities were very well maintained and the Site Team are very welcoming and friendly.

Access is via narrow, but not scarey, tarmac roads but don't follow Google from the A30 south; instead read the directions on their website. Google Maps doesn't seem to care about the width of your vehicle. Our Ducatto SatNav has a Goods Vehicle setting which stops you going on very small routes unless you are stuck but does have the disadvantage of always thinking we are speeding.

One final comment. There is a reasonable Vodafone 4G signal !!!!!!!!! WiFi is also available but at a charge but fair enough. They have multiple transmitters around the site to maintain.

Some of the hills are very steep on a bike. But then it is Dartmoor!

As we were tired from travelling, we ate in the Manor House on the night of our arrival; the food was plentiful and really enjoyable resulting in constant food envy as different plates were being served to surrounding tables.

The pod itself was very clean and well maintained, it had everything we required and more.

One element of the whole trip we were dubious of before arrival was the cleanliness of the facilities, we needn’t have been. They were very clean and tidy and was never any queue for a shower which in itself was better than most hotels we have stayed in.

The surrounding area is obviously stunning and the short walk in to Tavistock was pleasant.

The staff are amazing, constantly welcoming newcomers and helping around the site- the food is great and the actual caravans and other places to stay are great quality and a decent size for a family.
The location is legendary, one of the nicest places I’ve ever been.
The restaurant is a lovely place to eat in and all aspects of the amenities around the site such as the showers and toilets are brilliant and cleaned regularly.
There is a playground in the middle of the site for kids to enjoy with multiple activities to do such as a Wendy’s house, swings and climbing frame which is safe and secure and quite visible.

All in all this is a great holiday park for any trip if you’re in the area of Dartmoor. More
